Abstract
Reactions of [Ru(L-L)(2)] (L-L = 2,2 ' -bipyridine or 1,10-phenanthroline) with AgNO3 have been carried out in ethanol, acetonitrile acetone, and 2-et hoxy ethanol media and compounds of the type [Ru(L-L)(2)(H2O)(NO3)](NO3), [ Ru(L-L)(2)(CH3CN)(2)](ClO4)(2) and [Ru(CO)(2)(bipy)(2)](ClO4)(2) are obtain ed. A reaction of [Ru(L-L)(2)(H2O)(NO3)](NO3) with HClO4 result in the form ation of [Ru(L-L)(2)(NO)(NO3)](ClO4)(2). All the compounds have been charac terised by analytical data, conductivity measurements, IR, UV-visible and c yclic voltametric studies. Formation of different compounds in different so lvents have also been rationalised.
