Abstract
Various active methylene compounds 2 reacts efficiently with 2-aminonicotin aldehyde 1 in the presence of piperidine at room temperature within a few m inutes and furnish the corresponding 1,8-naphthyridines 3 in high yield und er solvent free conditions.
