Vf. Kharsika et al., Luminescence of Eu3+-activated potassium scandium and potassium yttrium phosphate vanadates, INORG MATER, 37(8), 2001, pp. 831-835
The photoluminescence spectra of potassium rare-earth phosphate vanadates K
3R1-yEuy(PO4)(x)(VO4)(2-x) (R = Sc, Y) were measured in the range 450-800 n
m under excitation at 337 nm. The energies of the Stark components of the F
-7(j) (j = 0, 1, 2) multiplet were determined, and the crystal-field parame
ters were evaluated. The effects of the Eu3+ concentration and PO43-/VO43-
ratio on the luminescence of the materials studied and the concentration qu
enching of luminescence were analyzed. The materials with high Eu3+ concent
rations are shown to be potentially attractive as photo- and cathodoluminop
hors.
