A general approximation method for integrals of smooth integrands over the
lognormal distribution is presented that is suitable for integration over s
mooth functions, particularly most integrands occurring in aerosol dynamics
calculations. Its accuracy and performance is compared to numerical quadra
ture methods, the well-known Gauss-Hermite and the hardly-known Gauss-Wiger
