Abstract
The EXIT (ex utero intrapartum treatment) procedure is used to maintain fet al-placental circulation during partial delivery of a fetus with a potentia lly life-threatening tipper airway obstruction. We performed the EXIT proce dure on a fetus with a large intra-oral cyst. Sevoflurane was used as the a nesthetic because of its rapid titratability. Sevoflurane provided excellen t maternal and fetal anesthesia. Modifications to previously described moni toring techniques for the EXIT procedure were also used. (C) 2001 by Elsevi er Science Inc.
