The possibilities of using chirped pulses for single-shot measurements in c
oherent four-wave mixing (FWM) are examined. We consider various modificati
ons of chirped-pulse FWM techniques, including degenerate and nondegenerate
four-wave mixing, coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering, and Raman-induced
Kerr effect. Expressions for the slowly varying amplitudes and energies of
nonlinear signals produced through such processes involving chirped pulses
are derived.
