Abstract
PET centers without particle accelerators make clinical PET widely availabl e at reduced cost. For myocardial perfusion tracers, these satellite PET ce nters are limited to generator- produced Rb-82(+) and Cu-62[PTSM]. Their li mitations motivate a search for transportable alternatives. In search of ne w tracers we have synthesized several F-18-labeled amines and quaternary am monium salts. Among them, 4-[F-18]fluorotri-N-methylanilinium ([F-18]FTMA) has flow-tracing proper-ties. The compound is functional, but has propertie s that justify a continued search. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Inc. All right s reserved.
