Treatment of [Cp*Ru(NO)Cl-2] (Cp* = eta (5)-C5Me5) with NaQAr or LiQAr (Q =
S, Se, Te; Ar C6F4H or Ph) affords [Cp*Ru(NO)(QAr)(2)] . Interactions of [
Cp*Ru(NO)(SC6F4H)(2)] with PR3 (R = Ph or Me) give [Cp*Ru(PR3)(2)(SC6F4H)]
via phosphoraminate intermediates. The crystal structures of [Cp*Ru(NO)(SC6
F4H)(2)] and [Cp*Ru(PMe3)(2)(SC3F4H)] have been determined. Treatment of [C
p*Ru(MeCN)(3)] [PF6] with HN[SeP(i-Pr)(2)](2) affords a novel Cp*Ru(IV) com
plex, [Cp*Ru{eta (2)-Se2P(i-Pr)(2)} {eta (2)-SeP(i-Pr)(2)}] [PF6], which ha
s been characterized by X-ray crystallography.
