New control solution

The Varkaus-based company Honeywell Oy has developed a solution for improve d control of paper machine white water consistency and thus retention. The solution, which is based on horizon multivariable predictive control and fu zzy logic, has been tested for the past year at a fine paper mill. It solve s several problems associated with conventional control methods and signifi cantly improves certain key paper quality parameters (article on pages 377- 378).
