Abstract
Regional variations in the sulfur, resin, and paraffin contents and in the fractions of crude oils were studied by the statistical and cluster analysi s methods. The data used in the treatment were obtained from the petroleum chemistry database which includes at present more than 8000 items of physic ochemical and geological information on all basic petroleum basins of Euras ia. Meridian and latitudinal dependences were determined for the aforementi oned parameters of petroleum composition. Regional variation in the propert ies of crude oils by the combined properties: sulfur and resin content: sul fur and asphaltene content. and sulfur. resin, and asphaltene content was s tudied. The results of studies are charted in a computer map of Eurasia.
