Magnetic measurements on a Tb7Rh3 single crystal indicate that with decreas
ing temperature, the magnetic phase changes from paramagnetic, antiferromag
netic at T-N = 91 K, ferromagnetic at T-C = 73 K to re-entrant antiferromag
netic at T-iota = 27 K states. The electrical resistivity shows an anomalou
s temperature dependence in which, in the paramagnetic region, the resistiv
ity monotonically increases with decreasing temperature, like a semiconduct
or. The concept of a semimetallic band structure is applied to explain the
anomalous transport properties. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights r
