Abstract
A fluctuating charge density wave state in the presence of large electron c orrelation has been proposed as an appropriate model for the normal state o f the alkali doped fullerides. Total Raman scattering intensity due to scat tering of light by phonons as well as that due to charge carriers is calcul ated in the normal state. Calculated Raman spectrum qualitatively explains the observed anomaly. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science BN. All rights reserved.
