Abstract
Spin-orbit (SO) interaction of electrons confined near a curved semiconduct or surface is studied. The curvature of the surface determines an interesti ng mechanism of SO interaction which complements the known mechanisms occur ring in planar systems. The specific cases of nanosphere and nanotube are c onsidered and the electron spin-split spectra in these systems are found.
