Abstract
A new, low cost, device based on a first generation CT-scanner has been dev eloped. The instrument exploits the high performance of radiographic films in terms of spatial resolution and image definition and is able to produce tomographic images of small objects (10 x 10 cm). It can be used at differe nt energies and it is a useful instrument for examining a large amount of d ifferent samples. The entire system is composed of an X-ray tube, a rotatin g table, a scanner, a simple system for radiographic film translation and s oftware based on a Filtered Back Projection algorithm for the image reconst ruction.
