Abstract
We have studied aqueous HCN in an heterogeneous phase, with the purpose of analyzing the effect of a clay mineral, namely Na-montmorillonite, in radio lysis. The results obtained show that carboxylic acids are formed among the radiolysis products of HCN. In the presence of clay, the formation of carb oxylic acids is observed but to a lesser extent than without clay. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
