Abstract
Indirect data coming from animal studies and in vitro observations support the contention that the mere presence of antiphospholipid antibodies may be sufficient to increase atheroma. development, regardless of other predispo sing factors. It seems that humoral and cellular immune responses to beta ( 2)-glycoprotein I can play an important role in mediating the increased pro pensity to atherosclerosis.
