Abstract
The mixed-ligand Bi(III) complexonate with the ethylenediaminetetraacetate anion and thiourea molecules LiBi(Edta)(Tu)(2) . 5.5H(2)O was synthesized. The crystal structure of this compound was determined; it consists of Li(H2 O)(4)(+) cations, intricate complex anions [Bi(Edta)(Tu)(2)-Li(H2O)(2)-Bi(E dta)(Tu)(2)](-) (formed by linking two Bi(Edta)(Tu)(2)(-) complexes through the Li(H2O)(2)(+) cation), and crystal water molecules. The system of N-H . . .O and O-H . . .O hydrogen bonds combines the structural units into a t hree-dimensional framework.
