Abstract
The iron(III) chloride complex with 1-morpholino-3,3-dimethyl-3,4-dihydrois oquinoline (1) was synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography a nd IR and electronic spectroscopy. Structure I is built of centrosymmetric binuclear [(FeCl3)(2)(mu -O)](2-) anions and (HL)(+) cations. The coordinat ion of the Fe3+ atom is tetrahedral. The bond lengths are Fe-O(br) 1.748 An gstrom, average Fe-Cl 2.221 Angstrom. The (HL)(+) cation is protonated at t he nitrogen atom of the dihydroisoquinoline moiety.
