Abstract
We describe the preliminary results of manganese(III) acetate based selecti ve oxidation of various alpha ' -methyl 2-cyclohexenone and 2-cyclopentenon e derivatives to afford the corresponding alpha ' -acetoxy-alpha ' -methyl substituted oxidation products in good yields.
