A. Dominici et al., Skin involvement from micropapillary bladder carcinoma as the first clinical manifestation of metastatic disease, UROL INTERN, 67(2), 2001, pp. 173-174
Cutaneous metastases from transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the bladder
occur infrequently. We report the case of a 68-year-old man presenting with
an isolated skin nodule a few weeks after local excision of a micropapilla
ry bladder carcinoma. This rare variant of TCC, which is strikingly reminis
cent of the histological pattern of ovarian papillary serous carcinoma, is
associated with poor prognosis and apparently high metastatic potential. Co
