E. Magyari et B. Keller, The wall jet as limiting case of a boundary-layer flow induced by a permeable stretching surface, Z ANG MATH, 52(4), 2001, pp. 696-703
The self-similar steady boundary-layer flow induced by a permeable continuo
us surface stretching with velocity U-w (x) = A.x(-1/2) in a quiescent flui
d in the presence of a lateral mass flux with suction velocity V-w (x) = -
(vA/4)(1/2).x(-3/4). f(w) is considered. By making use of the exact analyti
c solution of the flow problem, it is shown that in the limiting case of a
vanishing lateral mass flux ( f(w) --> 0) this stretching-induced flow goes
over by an adequate scaling transformation in the well known wall-jet.
