Abstract
This paper describes the design and operating principle of a system fo r obtaining small glass spheres from blanks of cubic shape. Experiment al data are given concerning the kinetics of the size variation of the blanks during the formation of small spheres. It is shown that the pr oductivity of the method increases appreciably when one of the two too ls being used is rotated. (C) 1997 The Optical Society of America.
