Abstract
Pancreaticoduodenectomy and total pancreatectomy remain a formidable challe nge to many surgeons. This report describes the utilization of Endo GIA lin ear staplers for division of the proximal jejunal mesentery and division of the uncinate process during pancreatic surgery. Their use may help to redu ce undue bleeding during surgery, reduce total operative time, and ultimate ly reduce postoperative morbidity and mortality. (C) 2001 Excerpta Medica, Inc.
