Abstract
The communication covers various aspects of the surface ozone-monitoring pr oject, which was carried over a period of 2 1/2 years in the Eastern Highla nds of Zimbabwe. Using the passive samplers (candle method)-indigo impregna ted paper and exposing for 7-day duration, the ambient ozone levels were mo nitored, which is calibrated by KI method. The surface ozone concentration was monitored at 14 sites situated at different altitudes in Eastern Highla nds of Zimbabwe. Seasonal trends were observed. Marginal variations were ob served between the years (1991 and 1993) at any sampling station. Mean ozon e levels at various sites varied between (33 and 48) ppbv. The observed sea sonal trends in ozone levels were discussed. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
