Abstract
Inhibitory activity of lignans isolated from Magnoliae fargesii CHENG on ce ll adhesion molecules on the surface of THP-1 human monocytic cell lines we re investigated. Among 16 lignan components tested, six displayed relativel y potent inhibitory activity on the expression of both intercellular adhesi on molecule-1 (ICAM-1) and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1).
