Kj. Whitehead et al., Determination of the extracellular concentration of glycine in the rat spinal cord dorsal horn by quantitative microdialysis, BRAIN RES, 910(1-2), 2001, pp. 192-194
Two quantitative microdialysis methods were used to determine the extracell
ular concentration of glycine in the dorsal spinal cord of halothane-anaest
hetised rats. Extracellular glycine determined by zero net flux was 2.6 +/-
0.3 muM and by the zero flow method was 3.3 +/-0.3 muM. For comparison the
glycine content of cerebrospinal fluid was determined to be 6.4 +/-1.1 muM.
There was no correlation between the extracellular and the cerebrospinal f
luid concentrations. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
