Spectroturbidimetric method of the determination of the average size and th
ickness of the shell in polydisperse suspensions of liposome particles was
discussed. The method is based on measuring the wave exponent of suspension
(the logarithmic slope of turbidity spectrum) and specific turbidity (turb
idity per unit mass concentration of dispersed substance). The solution of
inverse problem was performed using the exact calculation of the characteri
stics of light scattering for polydisperse spherical bilayer particles with
allowance for spectral dependence of optical constants. Practical realizat
ion of this method is illustrated by the experimental determinations of the
structural parameters of liposomes prepared from egg lecithin.
