Geographical distribution of soils in the Pamir Mountains as dependent on temperature and hydrothermic conditions

General schemes of the distribution of soils and vegetation as dependent on the distribution of the sum of active temperatures and the degree of clima tic moistening (the Ivanov-Vysotskii humidity factor) in the Pamir Mountain s are suggested. It is shown that the development of particular types of so ils and vegetation communities in all vertical temperature belts, except fo r the cold belt, is mainly controlled by the humidity factor.
