Abstract
A numerical simulation of the anomalous cosmic ray (ACR) radiation belt, in cluding production by electron stripping and decay by energy loss in a mode l atmosphere, predicts altitude and time variations over the last solar cyc le. Satellite ACR data are used to estimate the unknown trapping cross sect ions. Energy loss to free electrons is significant for the high altitude tr apped ACR which have not yet been observed.
