Sc. Lee et al., Volume holographic device for spherical aberration correction and paralleldata access in three-dimensional memory, JPN J A P 1, 40(3B), 2001, pp. 1796-1797
We propose a volume holographic device for spherical aberration correction
and parallel data readout in three-dimensional optical memory. Since the vo
lume holographic device has high angular selectivity and wavefront conversi
on property, it is possible for that the volume holographic device can achi
eve data separation in each layer and the correct the spherical aberration
which is generated when the data in deep layers are read or written. We pre
sent the theoretical analysis of parallel readout property using Kogelnik's
diffraction theory [Kogelnik: Bell Syst. Tech. J. 48 (1969) 2909]. We also
demonstrate some experimental results of the volume holographic device.
