Coding of image objects based on wavelet transform using lifting scheme

Wavelet lifting scheme was applied to the transform coding of arbitrarily s haped image objects. There are two approaches: one needs the extrapolation of the image object and the other is a shape-adopted algorithm by modifying the lifting scheme. The experiment result shows that the image compression performance of the two approaches is better than Katata's approach which u ses the classical wavelet transform.
