Abstract
The giant magnetoresistance (GMR) of a superconducting/ferromagnetic trilay er system (F-1/F-2/S) is calculated in ballistic and diffusive regimes, tak ing into account Andreev reflection at the F-2/S interface. In the ballisti c regime the GMR oscillates around a positive value as a function of thickn ess. while in the diffusive regime, the GMR is supressed. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
