Abstract
Structural. magnetic and transport properties have been investigated for Ln (1-x)TiO(3) (Ln = Ce and Pr) for 0 less than or equal to x less than or equ al to 0.33, With increasing x, the crystal structures change to the double perovskite structure (Pmmm) from the orthorhombic perovskite type (Pnma) at x similar to 0.2. The canted-antiferromagnetic order of CeTiO3 and PrTiO3 (x = 0) with Neel temperatures of similar to 120 K almost disappears at x s imilar to 0.1. The transport measurements revealed metal-insulator transiti ons at x similar to 0.1. and the existence of disorder-induced localization for x = 0.3. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
