The measured magnetovolume effect of Fe sublattice in R2Fe17, dT(c)/dV and
dM(s)/dV are 3.8 x 10(3) K/nm(3) and 1.8 X 10(1) mu (B)/nm(3) /Fe. However,
these magnetovolume effects cannot explain the elevation of Tc caused by t
he nitrogenation and the substitution of Si for Fe in Y2Fe17 compounds. On
the contrary, the Fe sublattice in R2Fe14Si3 compounds has very small dTc/d
V. The elevation of Tc is caused by the reduction of Invar properties of ir
on sublattice in the R2Fe17 compounds. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All r
