Abstract
A modified analog of cyclic adenosine 3',5'-monophosphate (cAMP), Sp-adenos ine-3',5'-monophosphorothioate, designed to be highly membrane-permeable an d resistant towards phosphodiesterases was found to induce the phosphorylat ion of the cAMP-regulated transcription factor cyclic AMP-responsive elemen t binding protein in cultured rat pinealocytes more efficiently than previo usly described cAMP analogs.
