This article presents a new multimedia personalisation service that automat
ically extracts multimedia content segments (electronic clips-called eClips
), based on individual preferences (key terms/words, content source, etc.)
-which the user identifies in a profile. User profiles are stored in the se
rvice platform and continually checked against new content in the system. W
hen matches are found between a user profile and the content, the service p
latform alerts the user that segments have been identified and extracted. T
he user may then view/play these automatically provided segments (eClips).
In addition, the eClips service stitches the clips of diverse sources toget
her, providing an automatically-generated multimedia experience that revolv
es around the user's provided profile.
