J. Karpinska et J. Suszynska, The spectrophotometric simultaneous determination of amitryptyline and chlorpromazine hydrochlorides in their binary mixtures, J TR MICROP, 19(3), 2001, pp. 355-364
The application of the Vierordt's method and derivative spectrophotometry f
or simultaneous determination of amitryptyline (AMT) and chlorpromazine (CP
M) hydrochlorides in their binary mixtures are presented. Both methods allo
w to determine the components without their isolation. By derivative spectr
ophotometry, amitryptyline hydrochloride can be determined in the range of
2-15 mug/ml and chlorpromazine hydrochloride between 2-53 mug/ml. The accep
table error was obtained when the ratio analyte:second component ranges fro
m 3:1 to 50:1 for amitryptyline and 0.1:1-0.8:1 for chlorpromazine. The Vie
rordt's method can be applied for resolution of the studied mixture when th
e ratio analyte: second component is in the 3:1-45:1 and 11:1-57:1 range fo
r amitryptyline and chlorpromazine, respectively.
