Diazoresin (DR)-based ultra-thin films, were fabricated on anodized alumini
um. plate (AAP) and investigated. The results show, that the adsorption of
DR, on AAP surface is characteristic of Langmuir-type and reaches saturatio
n rapidly. The thickness of adsorbed monolayer films was determined with an
gle-resolve X-ray photoelectron spectrometry (ARXPS), to be 2.5-3.5 nm. It
was confirmed that after UV-irradiation the DR combines tightlywith the AAP
surface via chemical bonding. As a result, the monolayer films exhibit exc
ellent wear resistance and high stability towards solvents. Meanwhile the A
AP surface nature becomes hydrophobic from original hydrophilic and accepts
ink easily. In addition, the DR-poly(sodium vinyl sulfonate) (PSVS) multil
ayer films were also fabricated on AAP surface via self-assembly technique.
The DR-PSVS multilayer film, which can dissolve in sodium dodecyl sulfate
(SDS) aqueous solution becomes insoluble after UV-irradiation due to the li
nkage conversion between the layers from ionic bond to covalent bond.
