Abstract
Four monomers containing azomethine-type spaces and 1-naphthyl groups at th e extremities were synthesized by a coupling reaction between 1-naphthalde- hyde with four different diamines. Full conjugated polyazomethines were obt ained by oxidative polymerization of the monomers using anhydrous FeCl3. Bo th monomers and polymers were investigated by IR, UV-Vis and H-1 NMR method s.
