Design, synthesis and characterisation of ethylcellulose latex

Latex pharmaceutical preparations are currently widely used in the pharmace utical industry as vehicles in diverse forms. The aim of this work was to s tudy the design, synthesis and characterisation of ethylcellulose latex to evaluate its influence on the end characteristics of the products obtained with it. Several latexes were therefore prepared using different ethylcellu lose polymers to determine the effect of the degree of substitution. They w ere then characterised by pH, viscosity, sedimentation, and scanning electr on microscopy (SEM) tests.
