Abstract
The paper describes the fundamental indications and procedures far implanti ng permanent pacemakers via the endocardial method. The surgical permanent pacemaker implantation was performed on four dogs of different breeds, with serious clinical symptoms of bradycardia and restrictions of the dogs' day to day activities. Routine treatment was not successful. After recording h istorical data; the dogs were clinically examined and then extra tests were made: ECG, RTG of the thorax, heart echography, morphological and some sel ected biochemical blood plasma parameters. The tests were performed with th e animals under anesthesia. Pacemakers were placed on the neck, and the endocardial electrodes inserted through the vein like a catheter into the right ventricle and implanted th ere. All the dogs had permanent pacemakers successfully implanted by the en docardial method and their clinical status was improved.
