Abstract
Studies were performed on the reproduction of 4-year-old geese of the White . Italian breed and covered 10 randomly selected birds diagnosed with amylo idosis and 10 healthy geese of the same age and from: similar rearing condi tions. The scope of studies involved the enzyme activity in the serum of th e geese, pertaining to: alanine aminotransferase (GTP), aspartate aminotran sferase (GOT), lipase, alpha-amylase, gamma glutamyltransferase (GTP) and a lkaline phosphatase. The following were also determined: blood glucose and creatinine, uric acid, total protein, albumins, bilirubin, cholesterol, ino rganic phosphorous and Ca, Na, K and Cl ions in the serum. The authors' findings showed a significant increase in acidic activity of a lpha-glucosidase, gamma glutamyltransferase and a lower decrease in case of aspartate aminotransferase. An increase in glucose; bilirubin, uric acid a nd potassium ions was also recorded.
