Abstract
Simple mineral acid extraction and open column chromatographic methods comm only used to isolate pyridinic nitrogen fractions from crude oil and rock e xtract appear to yield severely altered distributions of alkylquinolines an d benzoquinolines. This potential analytical bias, if not recognized, could lead to incorrect geochemical interpretations. Crown Copyright (C) 2001 Pu blished by Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
