Abstract
Safronova et al. (Physica Scripta 59, 286, 1999) used the relativistic many -body perturbation theory (MBPT) formulas to calculate the transition rates for Be-like ions. Substantial discrepancies existed between theory and exp eriment. In this comment, we discuss the origin of the discrepancies.
