V. Guzey et al., Nonsinglet structure function of the He-3-H-3 system and divergence of theGottfried integral - art. no. 054503, PHYS REV D, 6405(5), 2001, pp. 4503
We study shadowing and antishadowing corrections to the flavor nonsinglet s
tructure function F-2(3He)-F-2(3H) and,how that the difference between the
one-particle density distributions of He-3 and H-3 plays an important role
at very small x. We find that the flavor nonsinglet structure function in t
hese mirror nuclei is enhanced at small x by nuclear shadowing, which incre
ases the nuclear Gottfried integral, integrated from 10(-4) to 3, by 15-41
%. When integrated from zero, the Gottfried integral is divergent for these
mirror nuclei. It seems likely that, as a consequence of charge symmetry b
reaking, this may also apply to the proton-neutron system.
