Abstract
The free-radical homopolymerization of styrene- and p-methylstyrene(tricarb onyl)chromium was accomplished for the first time. The M-w values of the pr oduced polymers range from 10(3) to 10(4) at M-w/M-n similar to 3 and depen d on the nature of solvent and the presence of triisobutylboron as an elect ron-acceptor additive in the system. The structure of the polymers was stud ied by IR and NMR spectroscopy.
