Abstract
The paper presents applications of a new interactive tool for system identi fication and controller design. The tool has been applied to two control lo ops at the pulp and paper mill of M-real Sverige AB in Husum, Sweden. The a pplications are temperature control of a starch boiler in the coating kitch en. and steam pressure control in a drying section of a paper machine. The tool lias a graphical User interface for rapid system identification and PI /PID controller design.
