Abstract
Analyzed the molecular structure of 4-Hydroxy-3-Methoxy Cinnamylic Acid (HM CA), and studied the second-order nonlinear optical properties. The results reveal that it has fairly strong SHG effect and good transparency. The cut -off wavelength lambda (cut-off) = 420nm. Calculated its molecular second-o rder polarizability and a comparative study on its pertinent derivatives is carried out.
