The development or new and broadly applicable linker groups which are stabl
e under a variety of reaction conditions and allow release of the desired p
roducts from polymeric supports under very mild conditions is of great inte
rest for organic synthesis and combinatorial chemistry. In this review we s
ummarize the results of the research activities directed towards the introd
uction of enzyme-labile linkers which yield a variety of different target m
olecules through enzymatic cleavage from different polymeric supports.
