Abstract
An anisotropic filtration problem with singular advections and strong absor ptions, which leads to a quasilinear degenerate parabolic equation in diver gent form, is studied in this paper. The uniqueness and the comparison prin ciple are proved for the bounded and continuous solutions to the Cauchy pro blem and the first boundary-initial-value problems. (C) 2001 Elsevier Scien ce Ltd.
